Welcome to Champasak

The province of Champassak is home to one of Asia's great, but least visited temples, the UNESCO World Hertiage Site of Wat Phu.   Pakse, the capital is situated at the confluence of the Se river and the Mekong (Pakse means 'mouth of the Se') and is a busy trading town.  The province also encapsulates much of the Bolaven Plateau, an area that is home to a number of ethnic minorities, multiple waterfalls and is the home of the much sought-after, Lao Coffee.   To the south is Si Pan Don (four thousand islands), where the Mekong reaches up to 16km wide during the rainy season and the Khone Phapeng Falls.

 If this is not enough to make you Stay Another Day, then try visiting the very rare, fresh-water Irrawaddy dolphins, the elephants of Ban Khiet Nyong, visit SE Asia's largest waterfall or just chill by the Mekong with a cold Beer Lao....
