Home for the Elderly

Looking after our elders

The Home for the Elderly was set up the Sisters of St. Paul to provide shelter and care for those elderly people in Danang and surrounding areas who are either abandoned or have no family to look after them.

what we do

We are in fact two homes - one is reserved for those with serious disabilities while the other is home to approximately 30 residents, most of whom are between the ages of 80 and 100. Most of our residents come through referrals, but there are also many stories of local businesswoman and our benefactor Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nghi finding women sleeping on the street, or in miserable circumstances and bringing them to the Home.

In the grounds of our spacious building, the residents care for livestock, grow produce and tend to individual gardens while those who are physically able help out with the cleaning and daily chores. However, we provide much-needed care for these elderly residents who have nowhere else to go.

Although we have the capacity to accommodate 40 people, currently there is funding for only 30.
